NEVIS, WEST INDIES
"...artefacts have been discovered"
There are at least two ruins on the 6 acres that Butler’s
House now occupies. One, a kitchen ruin, has been partially excavated, revealing at least 4 rooms. The other appears to be a single room only. Foundations are dotted around the property. Artefacts
have been discovered but are awaiting expert identification.
Owners Diane and Tim Cornes bought the property in 2005, renovating the historic house under the skillfull eyes of local builders Mr. Noral Lescott and son Dennis and re-inventing the gardens with award-winning English landscape designers Julie Toll and Ian Kitson. Nevisian landscaper Stedroy Wilkinson, formerly of the Four Seasons Resort, implemented
the design.
By June 2011, Butler’s will have a lovely Nevisian-style
Cottage, a tamed and natural Upper Terrace and East Side and a generator.
